2026 Summer Brain Camp
The 6-day program offers students a unique opportunity to experience different aspects of brain research in an authentic laboratory, learning about the tools and discoveries that shape our understanding of the brain. Students will work with real human brain specimens, use microscopes and research-grade lab equipment, practice radiology, and evaluate cognitive functions such as memory, perception, and attention using clinical tools.
The camp is led by Dr. Jacopo Annese, a researcher and former UCSD professor with over 30 years of experience in the field of neuroscience.
The program runs from Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. Saturday is graduation day, open to parents and guardians, when students will showcase learning materials and their projects. Lunch will be served on weekdays. Light refreshments will be served.
The camp will be hosted at The Brain Observatory’s lab in downtown San Diego. Instructions for drop off and pick up will be sent after booking is complete. Please notify our staff of any food restrictions or special needs. Thank you!
